I am going to an air display at Sywell in June and looking at Google maps I can see a small layby on the A43 close to a place called Lavender Hill.
Can anyone who lives in the area tell me if this place would be okay for a night stop, 6 metre van or, failing that somewhere more suitable.
Many thanks.

There are larger areas further off road further up the A43.

Never been there myself but P4N has them listed.

If it's anything like the overnighting areas anywhere near Duxford when their events are on, it'll be very busy so I'd arrive early at your overnight spot. As in, much earlier than you think you might need to.
The Sywell Airshow looks like it's going to be an excellent event. I've been pondering going, but it unfortunately clashes with another event. I've not booked either yet while I deliberate!
I'm also considering the Midlands Air Festival, but that is working out EXTREMELY expensive if I camp on site, and it's also the weekend before I'm due down in Devon watching the D-Day Squadron departing to do parachute drops over Normandy to commemorate 80 years since D-Day.

As I lve in Northampton. Those layers on the A43 are famous for dogging . They did a TV program about it . We live really near to Sywell. And used to drive hgvs at night time. TUCANO .

There is a campsite at the roundabout called The Whitehouse.

Rectory Farm a CAMC CL site is close by if you are a member

@ Otter Spotter, thanks for that although l gave up club membership many years ago now. Happy to hideaway somewhere with no cost or dogs. :ROFLMAO: (y)

There is a large layby on the A45, going westbound a couple of miles from the Wilby roundabout . Not far from there to sywell . There is mac d and a decent pub of the roundabout.
