Sygic GPS Truck & Caravan Navigation

Been using it for years and like it. I run it on iPad, and like the ability to go from searchforsites (or similar) direct to navigation program without needing to type info in.

Good and bad comments on this app please

Was happy using Sygic a few years back but after the problems I had which you have probably read about on the threads that scotjimland linked, plus all the maps I had loaded just disappearing, I switched back to Copilot, but I have recently been using Magic Earth which is free with the ability to input your MH dimensions and to date it has not put a foot wrong.
It's available for both Andriod and iOS. I have loaded it on both my phone and the radio headunit in our MH. Bear in mind though, that it does use data like Google Maps rather than being a stand-alone for navigation.

Sygic wiped everything from my phone and when I contacted them they didn’t want to know and all they said was I could pay again🤣

Have used Sygic for about three years. This year it started coming up with frequent mapping errors which prevented it from working out routes, I found that there are often multiple address entries for the same place but only one of them works, and pretty much every UK address postcode is way out (Southampton comes up with Bournemouth for example). If you don't actually drive over the waypoint you've set, it retains that in it's memory and even when new routes are set will try to take you back to it unless you cancel the previous route.

Now experimenting with RoadLords free version which looks a lot more like Google maps. I've noticed when it starts up it tells you it is working in conjunction with Sygic and Tom Tom, but I'm using it despite that.

I tried Road Lords and found it was so slow in tracking our position and that it was telling us we were approaching a junction when in fact we were already at the junction.

Tried it and uninstalled it. It’s carp….. I now use CoPilot. It’s better but not perfect. Only as good as the mapping they subscribe to.

Just started using sygic, no probs so far with mapping but although listing my SD card, it won't give the option to save maps to it on my Samsung tablet.

Had Sygic on 4 devices and always been able to swap between them without issues. Used in many foreign countries without any problem, swapping across to km from miles. It displays your current speed and the speed limit of the road you are on. This is often wrong as it always thinks you should go lorry speed.

I bought it a few months back with the understanding it supported Android Auto. Most of what you read indicates it does, only after a few messages it was confirmed AA is for car version only so I wasted £80
Support was shockingly bad with one word answers, I would steer clear!

I have my iPad set up with Copilot Truck with routing set to motorway, main roads and tolls.
I also have Sygic truck set up as avoid motorways and tolls and switch to this when that is how we want to travel (which is when we are in Europe mostly).
Neither are perfect but both are more than adequate. I also keep Apple Maps running just as a living map on my Pioneer using car play so I can see where we are geographically.

Occasionally I actually look where I am going 😁😁😁
