Hi just a quick one , do the swivel front seats lock in place once you turn them from driving position
On motorhomes I have a Bailey Autograph… once I turn from driving position they are just free to swivel
Is there a way to lock them in a position.

Thanks

Hi
We have a Fiat Ducato based and the seats don't lock when facing the rear.
Our Renault based MH also had seats that didn't lock facing the rear.

Our Movano doesn't..
However surely the base vehicle does not matter.. is it not what swivels the converters fit to the seats to make them swivel that makes the differance??
Could be. Well mine is a Giottiline, part of the Rapido group and the seats don't lock on swivel.

Mercedes based Hymer.

Both seats lock forward or 180 degrees backward.
And will swing though about 300 degrees

The art is moving the seat forward or backward to swing to the right position.
I had to show some newbies how to do it, as they were convinced the seats only swung through about 90 degrees and did not lock.

Thanks everyone one, looks like not many do lock facing rear
However any way we can lock the driver in the rear position as it would be a good anti theft device.ie maybe make a hole for a padlock so the the y seat can’t be turned back to drive away ….

If you go to the Motorhome Security section, there's a huge thread running on this. A lot of people use a patriot disc lock.

Sorry, I don't know how to post a link to the thread, can someone post it up for the OP?

Ours on the MAN TGE (VW Crafter) lock both ways, these were supplied as a factory option when we ordered the base vehicle. From past experience with both factory and after market swivels I would prefer them not to lock other than in the driving position.

Our last Hymer they locked facing the rear, I modified them so they didn't.
Current van has the notch to lock them but you can't swivel them far enough to lock.

Like this .20211120_102649.webp 14mm hole needs to be drilled in seat plate to allow the chrome mushroom top to drop through.

It’s a strange world.
It would never have occurred to me to want to lock it facing aft.

Yes, a disc lock, but I have mine all over the place. Even swivel it to get up!

This forum does encourage blue sky thinking

I thought the OP meant his seat didn't latch when swiveled to sit in whilst camped up. I may have misunderstood...

Ours do not lock in reversed position. I prefer them not to so that I can move them a smidgeon to get past or to store a shoe box or Ecoflow powerbank . It also means that I can put the security lock in a better position..

In post #14, the OP asks about securing the seats when turned, with a padlock or similar. I don't know how to link to the long thread about seat security.
I missed that as he didn't mention security in the original post.

Here is the thread.
