At the moment I keep my Schaudt control panel on all the time. It seems to me that it is taking some drain and I am wondering whether or not I should switch it off when not using he motorhome. My main concern is keeping the cab battery topped up if I do switch it off.

My set up is this
Schaudt EBL 29. I have removed the 20A fuse so that it does not charge the leisure batteries. However, it does trickle charge the cab battery via the 20A feed for the fridge.
2 x 120Ah KS LiFePo4 batteries
A Victron BM700 which is attached to a Victron smart battery sensor.
Votronic 350 MPPT solar charger attached to 250W of solar panels. The main charge from this is connected directly to the Lithium batteries, not via the EBL. But it also has a trickle charge to the cab battery which I have wired via the EBL and which I understand goes via the 20A feed for the fridge.
Victron 75/15 MPPT solar charger attached to 200W of solar panels. This is wired directly to the lithiums and has no facility to trickle charge the cab battery.
A Victron IP22 mains charger, wired directly to the leisure, but has no way to charge the cab battery. I have not needed to use this yet this winter.

The EHU is plugged in all the time when parked up at home. But I don't want to use it to charge the lithiums if I can rely upon the solar to do so. I can read the state of the lithiums and what is happening with them charging via bluetooth when I am in my lounge at home So far this winter the solar panels are keeping the lithiums charged. But I have no way of knowing the state of the cab battery unless I go out and look on the Schaudt control panel

So my question is, if I switch off the Schaudt control panel will the cab battery still get the trickle charges from the Votronic and EBL?

The state of the panel has no effect on charging via the EBL, doesn't matter if its on or off.

Never plug ours in at home just rely on solar, always leave my panel no reason I've just always done it. Only thing I turn off is the water pump switch.

We turn our panel off if not in the van because if we leave it on some of the habitation lights come on by themselves!

My Shaudt EBL630 system is odd. The standard Off is a standby mode. I turn the jog wheel to the power icon and press one the button. Lights and pump switch off. But this still draws a couple of hundred milliamps.

To fully power down, so even the clocks lose their time, I have to hold the jog wheel in for 10 seconds. This clicks off a big relay in the electroblok and everything goes properly dead.

We always leave our panel On only switch the water pump Off, we did always turn if Off until the back up battery on the panel leaked and we had to replace the panel, but since 2013 our last and present motorhome we always leave it On. 😎 Bob.

It's true that it doesn't matter if the 12V control panel switch is on or off. But the OP needs mains hookup to be connected, and the EBL mains charger to be on. Even if the EBL charger 20A fuse has been removed.

The OP is relying on charging via the inbuilt EBL trickle-charger for the starter battery. The input for this is controlled by the trickle-charge relay. There is a separate dedicated output from the EBL mains charger that switches on that relay. This works whether the 20A charger output fuse is inserted or removed, but is switched on only when the EBL charger is switched on

The 20A charger fuse has been removed, which stops the output of the EBL mains charger. However any other charge source, such as solar or different mains charger, can charge the leisure batteries. If the EBL mains charger is on, so that the trickle-charge relay is on, the leisure batteries are still connected to the input of the EBL trickle-charger. So anything that charges the leisure batteries will also trickle-charge the starter battery, as long as the mains is on to keep that relay switched on.

I think our Schaudt panel does not have a switch for the whole panel, but I now turn off the 12v switch whenever we leave the MH, if I remember, since reading about an electrical fire which developed when the owners were away from the vehicle.
