Swiss Via app (you won’t like this)☹️

Well it looks like the VIA app is going and is being replaced by a web solution (whatever that means) and the 10 day individual yearly option has now been discontinued from Jan 2025
I guess if you visit the app the message will be there

It was updated this year as the web registration now replaces the hard copy vignette for us locals. It was kinda weird that tourists could go online and pay for their road use and yet all Swiss plated vehicles had to go and get a hard copy sticker… this has been phased out this year. And i guess the Via App may well have been dropped, however i will try to check as knowing the super efficient Swiss there’s someone deep inside a cave, under a mountain working on it as week speak, well between 9-5 on a weekday

I have to say the Swiss Via app is the best by far way of paying to use the roads, much easier than the various go box’s etc. It will be sad if the app is gone

The 'ten freely chosen days' option is stopping but you can still purchase the other types, it just means you'd have to pay for consecutive days with the minimum charge of 25CHF, so as the cost is 3.25CHF per day if you're going to do this then it makes sense to spend 7-8 days there each time rather than just going through in one day.
