From 1st Janusry 2025 the Swiss authorities have revised the road tolls for hgv's, including motorhomes over 3,500kgs.
The previous "10 individual days" option has been withdrawn so now it's "days (minimum 7), month or year".
From now on, if you're travelling through Switzerland, maybe to Italy, you'll have no choice but to pay for seven days or more. Similarly, when you return, it'll be another seven days!
The legislation specifically states that you must pay the toll for every day the vehicle is in Switzerland, EVEN IF IT'S PARKED UP IN A CAMPSITE!

Without knowing anything about this new to me news.

What happens if I park on a campsite in CH (highly unlikely for me) and dont use toll roads (extremely likely for me)

Or is it just that you get a week/month/year and it doesnt mater if you use tolls or not

No more via app, it’s now a web based service which is a shame as the via app was the easiest way of paying to use the countries roads (even if you was parked up for some of the days)

I dont mind paying them nothing for using their lovely single lanes and enjoying the scenery, more or less the same as i pay the french, spanish and austrians,

In Switzerland the toll charge apply to ALL roads, not just major roads like in some other countries.
The charge is 3.25 CHF per day with a minimum charge of 25 CHF.
The charge is for every day the vehicle is in Switzerland even if it's parked up.

Can’t answer that as I’ve never been to Switzerland and NOT used a motorway at some point!
I’d pay the same to the Austrians to use their motorways but as you know it’s a Pia that’s why I Traverse like you, using the back roads. I try and keep out of France and never been to Spain in the moho😁😁😁

Germany is motorhome heaven😁😁

In Switzerland the toll charge apply to ALL roads,
Are you sure ?

To traverse Switzerland on non-toll roads, you need to primarily use "cantonal roads" which are smaller, non-motorway roads that do not require a vignette (toll sticker), allowing you to travel throughout the country without paying the motorway toll, but be prepared for longer travel times and potentially more winding roads with less scenic views compared to the main highways.
