Afternoon all.

I am going to view a 2005 with 31k in the clock. Good MOT history no rust. Only catch is this slight damage to the skirt around the sides.

Taking a mechanic with me to make sure it’s not affected the chassis underneath in anyway.

Question though could this have affected any of the seals and lead to allowing water ingress?

Photo attached.

Thanks in advance

Taking a mechanic is good idea. Please try and check for damp. Problem with these models is that the outside walls only go down to level with the floor inside instead of continuing to a point below. If no damp detected you may be lucky but check round the top of the skirt and make sure you fill with suitable filler if you go ahead with the purchase.

Is this the same motorhome that you posted about yesterday ?

Edit. Just realised it's not the same, but the warnings from yesterday still apply to this version

The Swift models of this age had a well documented problem with delaminated floors.
The issue was caused because they used a laminated floor plywood and if water infiltrated down the side of the skirts it got into the plywood and could not get out. Swift repaired many models in their factory.
Make sure you check all the flooring especially around the edges where the floor meets the walls.
Hope it’s a good one.
