Just a quick question to any funsters out there who may have a Swift Ascari 2013-2014 model as a friend of mine has just bought a new one and has been told that they have a payload of 500kg as their unladen weight is 3000kg, I doubted this but their dealer was quite adamant. Has anyone weighed theirs with no equipment and just 2 people and some diesel?

Many thanks

You have 500 kg ............... before anything gets add on as your mass in running order is 3000 kgs

Thank you for the reply but has anyone actually had their vehicle weighed on a weigh bridge as you do hear some horror stories about the actual unladen weight compared to the manufacturers so called unladen weight 👍

It would be best for them to weigh it, i tend to do that with every new van i have had.
You dont know what extras past owners have added and that can soon eat into the expected payload.

Get it weighed is the only solution, should be able to find a competent weighbridge, local councils will have them. Record what state it's in, e.g. amount of fuel, water, equipment and it's then possible to judge if it is useable or not. My guess, not a chance.
Personally I think your friend will be struggling - two average persons, say 350kg, won't leave you much payload left over...........
The dealer is not actually technically wrong in what he's adamant about - but they never take into account practical use.
