Bonjour a tous,
Does anyone out there have any thoughts on installing a supplementary diesel heater? The link below is an example and not necessarily the one I might buy.
I'm asking because we've have the MH heating on low just to stop the 'anti-freeze' valve popping and dumping the water, the issue is the amount of gas this uses. We seem to use a bottle a week and that costs 50€ as the temperature difference is -10 to +10 so it has to work hard. I'm also wondering if I install it in the garage/store I can plumb it into the existing heater ducting.

Merci beaucoup.

Manic has fitted a Chinese diesel heater and plumbed it to his original heater ducting.

Also if you search diesel heater in the top right search box you will find a wealth of threads on the subject of diesel heaters.

P.S. that's a very nice looking Amilcar C4 you have there. :xThumb:

As I've now searched for Diesel heaters and there is a load of info please don't post or reply to this thread.........unless it's to tell me how to delete it.
Thanks.

Now that’s just asking for a thread deviation….😆😎

Are you meaning when you are using the van?
If you are not using it drain down and leave it unheated like most of us do.

When we are either using the van and/or a few days before we are going to use it and we're loading it up with wine ready to take to relatives in England.

Let’s talk about your awesome car instead… 🤪
Mmm, my profile picture used to be of our 1983 Ford Transit Pilote which we bought just to check if we liked the MH life.....we Did so we bought a Burstner Lyseo big white fride of a van and I thought this was a more interesting picture. It's a 1924 French Amilcar C4.

Good grief - one of my ex wife’s friends had an Amilcar. When I worked in Geneva I went all the way to an obscure little motor museum somewhere near Zurich to see another one……..

Our van is fitted with an Eperspacher diesel heater but it is only wired through the ignition. Would be nice to remove that and use it as the engine heating is plumbed in with the Alde do not too much of an effort. Battery master would take care of the load on the engine battery
