Ive been wondering about the non toll route following last week Jock, Thats a really high bridge on the Italian side!! In fact we joke about italian expansion joints clearing the dashboard!@Pekepal. Same as advised above.
If you are entering Istria via the non toll route from Slovenia, you'll pass an ALDI on your right in Koper.

and local smaller supermarkets and some outdoor markets - not as many as France though.
We love Croatia and Slovenia- definitely one of our favourite countries. Where are you thinking of visiting?
Our favourite is a small town called Fazana which is on the bus route to Pula so you have the advantage of a smaller not so touristy place and the big town if you want it. Beautiful colour sea too.
Don't forget to visit the Plitvica Falls an the Krk falls if you can.
Have a great time.

Thank you. We would like to aim for Porec as we visited on a package hol many years ago. Love the sound of the site you mention. Is it easy to find? Visited Plitvica Falls on that package holiday. Also do the supermarkets take credit cards?and local smaller supermarkets and some outdoor markets - not as many as France though.

That's a shame, we had no such trouble but we were earlier in the year.due to lack of sleep caused by the Party Boats mooring offshore
are you at http://www.campingfusina.it/ ?We visited Fanzana and stayed at the lovely Bi. Village resort. Loved it and it is everything it says it is! Only one problem - we had decided to stay for at least a week but had to leave after 3 nights due to lack of sleep caused by the Party Boats mooring offshore and rapping etc., with boom boxes or whatever they call them, at full volume until 6 am. As one left another called in! Regrettably we left this beautiful country In rather a hurry as it looked as the whole area from Pula Rovinji and Porec were on their itinerary. Sadly our time for this particular trip is limited so we are now sitting on another beautiful site opposite Venice and enjoying the tranquillity!
No. We are at camping village Miramar at Punta Sabbioni. Lovely site with pool, restaurant, shop, free bus to vaporetto station and lovely staff.are you at http://www.campingfusina.it/ ?
Just to forewarn all potential travellers to Croatia, the days of the Tranquil September seem to be over. The place is heaving. Campsite Nevio was emptying out the other day but its filling up again. Just spoke to an English woman who has been travelling down the coast and she isn't enjoying it as much because of the volume of people. She described Makarska as 'Margate'. It looks like the busiest sites seem to be the ACSI card ones. So if anyone knows of any decent priced independent sites that might be quiet let me know. But the place is getting more popular.I agree with all of that.lovely. thought September would be tranquil also!!
2 years ago we arrived in Croatia around 22nd September, most of the sites were empty. If not an ACSI site they normally give a 10% discount if you have a camping card, making them no dearer than ACSI. We prefered the smalerl Autocamper Sites usally around £10 a night.Just to forewarn all potential travellers to Croatia, the days of the Tranquil September seem to be over. The place is heaving.
