Super U car parks

We are ( rules dependant ) thinking of trying to get down to Spain 1 / 2nd week in Feb.

I have been told that we can park in any 'Super U' Supermarket Car park across France..... realise its not everyones cup of tea, but, we want to get there without deviating from the main route by too much !!!! Will be crossing Pompey - Caen !!

News to me! Certainly some Super Us' and LeClercs' have designated 'Aires' with - in their car parks, but I doubt it is true for all Supermarkets as they are all independently owned.

You wont have any problems stopping in supermarket car parks in France a lot of them have Bourns as well.
If its a big Hypermarket you can be kept awake all night with deliveries.
If no Aire nearby you will be fine in the local car park.

Most supermarkets in France allow overnight parking for motorhomes, but few have any other services. We always make sure we spend a few €. in the store and make sure we leave no mess behind us and remember the rule of not putting out tables and chairs etc., they're not picnic areas.
We also usually find parking overnight in many towns and villages is not a problem as long as you obey the basic rules of not putting out tables and chairs and leaving no mess behind

If you 'post' your intended route and how far you want to travel each day (Inc potential detours to a nice stopover), I'm sure there will be plenty of suggestions offered up for overnight stays.

You could look in resources for tonka's invaluable "Western Route", which lists many stopovers on the way down. We carry a printed copy, which we use annually, (pre covid of course).
