the fun begins

Sorry guys , having to piggyback on your thread, have forgotten how to start one. I just had quite a few facebook warnings about dogs becoming seriously ill and 3 apparently passed away at the Stratford show. Initial warnings mention staying away from the racecourse, greenway, river avon and the rec. This is from another non subscriber motorhomer group, again on facebook.

I read that but also reading between the panic stricken FB lines it seems that there is some sort of Norovirus going around which dogs could pick up in lots of other places as well

Thanks - I had trawled for information but didn't spot that one. Much more credible than allegations of people putting poison down that I saw on FB

Doesn't really say a lot but it looks like a diarrhoea and vomiting bug. Our Jack Russell had something similar in Norfolk the other week. Clearly some dogs are susceptible to this sort of bug. We will take our chances and still bring the dogs, but thanks for posting anyway and alerting people

You lucky, lucky, lucky Funsters...

Go on... why don't you?

Keep on posting posts and include photos to show what a fabulous time we who can't get there are missing...

Bloody Gloaters... gloat, gloat, gloat.

JJ

Looking forward to tomorrow, JJ - we aim to be there about 4pm

One of ours has just had her booster jab and shes been given a level 4 one..apparently this is an upgrade to the usual ones which are level 3 and provide some protection from this 'thing'

A great afternoon at the races and finished £30 up too  Lovely to be so close to such majestic beasts.

Thanks for the dog info so we can be vigilant.

Sorry JJ, didn't mean to tease. We'll be back to work next week if that's any consolation :Rofl1:

Probably should have clarified that the majestic beasts I refer to were of the equine variety. I'm sure there are plenty of majestic humans too

Another quick question - are young children allowed? we might have to bring our 4 yr old grandson.

The river gently flowing

Some more for JJ:Wink:

Living where we do in Spain we very seldom see a river with water in it and so it is a great delight to see the beautiful Avon doing what rivers are meant to do........ simply flowing along bringing pleasure (and employment) to so many. Quite beautiful!

Here we gloat JJ:Rofl1:

Definatly... We used to bring our grandkids but now clashes with school term..
Bring swimwear and towel for the lido inside great play park by the butterfly farm in town.. Take him on a motor boat on the river... seen a few kids here but not many, expect more will come at weekend when off school...

Thanks for the quick and positive replies. The mini crisis is now over and so we won't have the little 'un with us this time.

Quick question:

Anyone there know if there's a telly in the bar? If not I need to find a 12v plug for mine in the van to watch the match tomorrow evening!

Steve :-)

It might be on in a few vans, ours included - might be in a bit of trouble for putting it on, though!

We've arrived and the weather is great. To Haganap and Teasy2007, if you want your 12 volt adaptors we're near the rail at the end farthest from the entrance.

We are on the naughty step....... no room inside so we are outside the gate

This afternoon the field was rocking, with Gail's Pims party (great afternoon thank you Gail) and the Funster Band in full swing. Just had a walk around the field you can hear a pin drop don't know what is going on
