Strange things with the windscreen wipers

My 2003 ducato based Moho has started doing something odd.
The windscreen wipers now stop in the fully upright position rather than in the down (or normal) position.
Any auto electric savants out there, or has anyone fixed this previously.

it will probably be the park switch and its normally part of the wiper motor so a repalcement motor

When I lived in Riyadh in the 90's, if you saw a white pickup with its wipers going, you knew the vehicle was about to turn left or right
