Strange Electrical Problem

On two occasions while connected to 220 power, both times while it was raining, I have had this happen. I will hear a clicking or snapping sound coming from under a dinette seat. There are several electronic devices there but I believe it is coming from the Nord NE350 power distribution unit. The strangest thing is that it momentarily lights up the IR receiver and the side LED strip lights on my Truma Aventa air conditioner. I have immediately unplugged from shore power and it stops. I inspected the cable and both ends appear dry at the connection pins and the plugs seem tight and sealed where the cable passes through. This has never happed when it's not raining so it must be moisture related. I'm concerned that this could cause electronic damage or be dangerous.
Any ideas?

Hi Tim, There'll probably be other replies that may help more. My suggestion would be to isolate your Truma Aircon and see if the problem still exists. Hope this helps.

Thanks Phil. It really doesn't seem like that is the problem, only twice and only when raining, but electrical can be as hard to trace as a leak. It's a new MH and the AC has never even been powered up.

Okay, any idea why only two times and only when raining?

Can you get to were you think it's coming from? Maybe take the cover off and see if you can see anything, if it's a 230v problem it needs looking at!

No I haven't but I have inspected the entire cable and there is nothing amiss. It doesn't do it every time so I'm not sure if switching to another would tell me anything unless it did it again. Then I could rule that out I suppose.

I've looked everything over and it looks normal, nothing charred, no odor. I'm fairly confident that the sound was coming from the Nord 350 unit.

If rain is causing the issue, it has to be something exposed to the elements. Cable, air con or other.
I’m no sparky though!
