Hi

My wife and I are looking to buy a motor home in the near future, but with so many to choose from we are hoping to get some help.
Our dilemma is that I am pretty tall (6’5”) and as such fixed beds just don’t seem to be an option. We also want somewhere to store stuff such as barbecue, deck chairs, fishing gear etc, so a garage would be handy.
Are there any options out there which would suit our needs??

Thanks in advance
Gregor

Try many of the German makes with QB, some rise up whilst travelling to increase garage space.

Thanks, however my height tends to cause issues when fixed beds are involved😩

Is that storage for bulky items, if so what is the make and model please.

:welco:

Twin singles give the best storage space with a huge garage, beds in German vans are typically one at 1.9m & one at 2.0m.

Have you looked at models where the two singles at the back also convert into one large transverse double? That might give you the extra length you're looking for without encroaching on the garage space,?

Have a look at the Hymer MLT 580

The bed on the right is already about 6'2"
But if the full length wardrobe next to the fridge was removed, then the bed would be about 7'

The lower section of the removed cupboard could be made a small cupboard.
As and when you sell, the full length wardrobe could be put back (or not)
A small section of cushion would need to be made up, plenty of companies out there to do this.

The twin beds also convert into a massive king size double, depending on partner size you could sleep diagonally.

Garage under the twin beds is big enough for a motorbike.

Thanks for the detailed response, food for thought.

We had a couple of motorhomes with beds needing to be made up each night. Fixed beds became a number one priority when we had had the funds to be able to choose the layout. But each to their own.
