I have been reading this morning of new rules, introduced in December, which require tourists to register quite a lot of information on booking in to accommodation. The report was regarding guests arriving at hotels in Tenerife having to queue at check-in for over an hour as guests filled in forms. (We were in Lanzarote in January but didn’t have this problem).

So, three questions for anyone in Spain now or recently returned

Did you experience these forms?

Do you have to complete one each time you book into a campsite?

Are there hold-ups, as a result, when disembarking ferries at Santander/Bilbao.

The report said hotel owners were protesting to the government that computer systems crashed and guests were reluctant to fill in all the details required.

We are booked Plymouth/Santander in September and these forms, together with reported anti-tourists protests, is making our trip less appealing than when booked.

Only been on one camp site. They just scan your passport and that seems to connect to something, takes a few seconds then you just sign on a tablet type thingy.

That’s what we have done in the past. It will be interesting to see if it develops or just fades away like the French Breathalyser “requirement”.

It started last winter at a site and the alhambra.
