Don't be tempted to walk across to the shops, it's not a very good neighborhood.

We went early evening in January and I've seen better housing estates here. Lots of dogs of course , all barking. Supermarket was ok but we didn't try the bars, just saw all the bars on the windows. A few more than usual.

Each to their own impression. The supermarket staff were very friendly and the bar in the main area was great too. I could maybe understand some reluctance after dark but that happens all over.

We stayed overnight at the Area Autocaravanas (Search for Sites), opposite the university, next to the sports grounds. Free! Peaceful night with about 20 other Motorhomes for company. Free facilities.

Tend to disagree. Been across there to the supermarkets and bars. No problem…….yet😱 But only in daylight.
The locals in one of the pubs there bought us a round of drinks and there was 6 of us.
The Colonial Tavern is done up to look like an ancient egyptian place. Very friendly

We have been here over this weekend. The official area is rammed as is the car parking area farther along where we are with the other 30 or so vans that could not get on the official area.

Mostly French Peter with a smattering of German and Dutch.
When we were in Portugal it was nearly all French.

Another vote for this place. Safe. large shop 10 mins away and you can walk to center or take tram

Were are in town at present having lunch.
The tram is just across the road from the aire and it is easy and cheap to get in to town on it.
It is surprisingly quite at night, although you will get a couple of hours of drum practice on a Friday evening.

No worries though. We will be heading down on the 28th for 2 months. will defiantly be doing a couple of nights there on the way down. Can't wait great little free park up.

Enjoy your lunch. (y)

We stayed there in December of last year too and felt it was great for a night. We’ve also stayed on the campsite but didn’t think it was worth the money.

How near do you want to be? Nice free aire with waste and water at Alcaniz,
lovely little town.

Not had any problems when we were there, the shower blocks however are like cattle sheds, the doors anyway, you don't need to be shy to use them.
Have also stayed at the Aire which i think I prefer as easier to get into Zaragoza, still not found the lovely restaurant/tapas place we were directed to when we stayed in a hotel many years ago, we keep trying it is in the old part of town though. 😉
