I'm New!
Heading Down to Como in the Summer, On the Hull to Rotterdam ferry Arriving on the Sunday and my Wifes flying out to meet us in Como on the Monday afternoon.

Looking for a good stop off on the way down, trying to do plenty of the miles on the Sunday, aiming for Como by Midday on the Monday.

Its me and my Son he's only 5 so I'd like a fairly secure and decent site with facilities, also (Gasp horror!!) in the Campervan so wouldn't mind loos etc but not a deal breaker, got the porta potty and the sink.

Currently thinking Via Luxemburg (Fill the Van up) down via Strasburg on to Basel so maybe round there?

Luxembourg, Metz, Colmar, Lucern - all good stop offs.

We stayed on a site at Lux, it was nice but the downside was that everyone had to queue and wait for the receptionist to book everyone in.
There's probably an aire if you search on here or someone will be along soon.
Metz - stayed on municipal site - aire at entrance but couldn't get our 9m tag axle in due to cars parked at entrance and exit. Nice place to walk around the town centre though.
Colmar - stayed on aire and walked into town which is lovely.
Lucern - stayed on camping international site by lake. tram into centre. expensive but nice.

We travelled to Lake Garda and the journey from Lucern via Gotthard tunnel and past Como was easy.

Strasbourg has strict emissions.

Swiss police have ZERO tolerance to speeding and rural speed limits change very frequently so make sure you know and stick to speed limits. My fine was about £250 and I was about 6mph over.

I think we stayed there for two nights when you come to mention that but we made use of our time by looking around the centre and going on the lake.
Top tip is to do a buy in before you get to Switzerland as it’s pretty expensive
