How can I stop my boiler dumping water? It doesn't have a lever it's like a blue box with a blue screw top thing on the top and a button which comes out on the side.
I've been told that the button needs to be in to stop it dumping at 8 degrees
I've put a cable tie around it to stop it dumping but its still leaking the boiler is from under the van that is.

Hi, the blue screw top as you call it is a valve and needs to be turned to a right angle to the pipework this is then closed then you need to push in the button harder until it clicks and stays in on its own it can be a bit of a fiddle,try that Welsh girl and if that does not work come back on to the forum.:)

I'm not at the van now but will try it later
Thanks

Not sure what type you have, but on our old van, I bought and fitted the Trauma heating element. Five minute job to fit. Not dumping afterwards.

Can you point me to the part that I want please? Out on a walk at the mo.

The blue valve actually dumps at 3° so if it's dumping at higher temps it could be a faulty valve. Be warned they are the wrong side of a 100 quid.

@Robert Clark I think you need a holiday:D, wrong thread perhaps:unsure:
Or maybe if you are having a boiler dump valve problem, then just ignore it and bake a cake:whistle:

Can I just take the frost protection valve out and just use a T piece to continue the water flow?

If I have water in the van and the temperature is likely to be low, I put the boiler on low which prevents it dumping or freezing
