How do you know that the wheel lock and steering lock bent off and in 40 mins? If captured on CCTV stills please

Do you not have any personal photos of the van?
The ones that you’ve posted look like screenshots from a dealer’s location. 🤔

Fuming as 2 days earlier my battery was dead as haven't used it charged it up as night it was taken following day i was taking it to garage hence noticed it had gone or they wouldnt been able take it

Hope you get a satisfactory outcome. 👍

If i were looking for it, my first gamble would be to head north on A1M and check the trading estates off the next 3 junctions.

Less likely to have gone south (Imo) or hit the M1 (assuming you are WGC and not near to WGC)

Best of luck

It's a transit. Sticking a screwdriver under the lock doesn't work like it does on a Fiat. But the lock can by turned with large pliers to get in. Mine has had the lock ground down with a taper to make it harder to grip though I don't know how effective it is.

I apologise if I offended you, I would imagine its been stolen for parts not cloning, as suavecarve has suggested industrial estates are worth a check

The trouble is transits are a joke I've seen them stolen in a couple of minutes they need some physical things to deter them and a hidden isolator ie fuel pump switch ect.
& people wonder why I have so much security for the cab along with obd lock etc.

You can get a circular tube that after dismantling lock from the door you then refit the lock through the tube to prevent exactly that. This is why when travelling I lock the front doors with steel pins through the B pillar in to door jamb. That's in addition to the dead locks externally on the doors

Generally seems a bit of a myth about transits being particularly easy to steal. They are desirable for parts as there are loads of transits around(potential customers) . Fiats are probable the easiest to get into unless modified, but the most stolen van is the Merc Sprinter, perhaps seen as a more valuable van.

Another thought comes to mind. A few years ago there was a group from East Anglia (IIRC) who went away for a few years for a series of motorhome thefts. Might be about the time they are released. I ll see if I can locate details

Too late for you and it won't stop it being stolen but I bought some 5 inch tall letter and used them to copy the number plate on the roof. It's readable by a police helicopter and unlikely they'll look up there if the clone it.

I was taking comfort in having an older van myself but it seems even old van are worth steeling :xangry::xangry:
