1. It can be easy to fit Peter, if you know what you are doing, and have an appreciation that 12v electrics can be just as lethal as 240v electrics, if you get it wrong. I did a lot of research, and made a few calls to Sterling themselves, who were excellent. How easy is it to install please? Does it usually go in the engine bay?

2. It's a bit big for the engine bay, and would be subjected to road dirt and crud. I installed ours in a cupboard directly above the batteries, ie, shortest cable length, and used 30mm sq welding cable to make the connections.
**It looks like @enery8 might be in there. **
Cheers,
Jock.
Another bargain for someone, eh Bob?
I wouldn't be without ours now.
BTW, are you changing MHs?
Cheers,
Jock.
I don't want to be seen to be hi-jacking @bobandjanie's thread, but was happy to relate my route taken on the installation process. I can't help with your question re alternator to batteries. Sorry. Why did you go batteries to batteries as opposed to alternator to batteries? Just wondered. We are still adding pro and con or solar etc.
Thanks. I have no problems with 12V or 240v electrics wiring, but it is the electronics that confuses me!1. Nope, it's that easy Peter. There is a battery temperature sensor connection I believe, which is optional. Are there just the 3 connections I can see, i.e. one to the starter battery one to the hab batteries and one to earth? Or is it it more complicated than that
Are these instead of solar panels
