Steps on 2002 swift suntour randomly stop working.

Hi.
My retractable steps on my suntour, randomly stop working.
I had a problem with the step alarm going off while travelling... So I disconnected it.
All good... Then after starting the van one day, and switching off... They would not work.
Poked around underneath but no obvious reason.
Started engine again few days after... Bingo... Steps worked again.
Then later returned to get in there to clear up.... They would not work again.
Am I right to think there is a relay or gizmo between the engine and steps that may be playing up and if so .. . Where??

If your vehicle is like mine there is a relay and fuse block for the step and fridge under the bonnet to the left of the air filter under a cover.
