So we are staying on a lovely private Stellplatze at the Teknik Musuem at Speyer in Germany and the place has just been invaded with a dozen or so French registered caravans.

The wagons are being circled bbq’s wheeled in from the car park and it has just turned feral with kids and dogs on the lose.

We stopped at Issoire on the way home at the municipal site which was nice.
We went for a walk and the site was situated between two large traveller camps.
What was interesting was that some of the caravans had nets placed over the top of the caravan roofs and they had used those large gym balls on the roof with the net over them to allow the roof vents to open. Either side of the van wee awning poles, pulling the net taught. It was like a circus tent but made of net. Ideal for stopping the crap from the trees dropping and entering the van through the roof vents.

We had the same problem in Regensburg. We couldn’t get on to one of the Stelplaz because it was taken over by travelers. I didn’t stay long enough to see what nationality they were. As per normal white vans towing caravans with lots of chrome.
They had generators running and cables across the parking area. Dogs and kids running wild.
We managed to get on to the Stelplatz nearer to the town and noticed the travelers were being moved off by the police a couple of days later and the site was being cleaned up.
From my time spent in Germany I can’t see the police tolerating that type of behaviour.

We stayed there four years ago, lovely sight, very interesting museum, good access to Rhine cycle path and a lovely town.
Late evening we had owls feeding just in front of us!

What fun. The Frenchies do know how to run social events. Sounds like you're in for a free entertainment evening. Enjoy!

We pulled into the approach road to thr Stelplatz in Trier, see a load of travellers and turned around.
Discovered that was the only place to stay so went back to the Stelplatz that was over the other side of their camp.
Never heard a thing from them and no motorbikes or cars racing around like in the UK

I think a lot of them are between things like grape picking etc and travel to different areas when needed😊

Is that a full domestic dining room table and chairs ?
No I think plastic table and chairs, we decamped to the far end of the Stellplatze with a few other vans and seems to be ok at the moment.

The bloke in the Hymer looks like he’s desperately trying to get everything in the garage before evacuation!

The police will clear them off pretty quick once they have been seen not to pay ,they don't need an eviction notice but it may take a couple of days if you can hold your nerve that long.

They will be far different then the perceived opinion… the difference being they stay a few days and gone with no trace, very clean and tidy… can’t vouch for the behaviour though…😎
