how to stop steering lock engaging whilst towing toyota IQ push button start

Hi there and welcome

I assume that the steering locks when you either lock the car or the keys are a certain distance from the car, if that is the case then you may have to leave the car unlocked or a key strategically placed in the car.

Is there not a switch to bypass the electric steering lock? That’s what our Picanto has.
