Just starting out
Still looking for a MOHO while out in the caravan.
Thing is. We have a dog, so cant leave the door open to let some air in like we can with the caravan. And I dont see any MOHO`s with stable doors. Can you knowledgeable lot point us too any manufacturers that make them.

Buy an older van and you might find stable doors, particularly British built models as most are caravan builders. .

But alternatively close the fly screen and the dog won't go out. Or you can make your own pull out gate like many have done.

My dogs have just learned not to go out the door when it's open or I kick their arse 😁🤣

Thanks for that.
Still looking for a van, but at least I dont have to concentrate too much on stable doors to keep the mutt in.

I wanted a stable door on our van but in the end I used an expandable stair gate. My boy was a 35kg Labradoodle and he never once attempted to even touch it. Not sure what would have happened if he spied a rabbit though. We have a stable door on our house it is brilliant for when you have a big dog as he insisted on getting to the door before me!! He made a lot of people laugh but scared a few too!!

Why, has the horse bolted? 😀

I’m on all week. I’ll get my coat.

They were great but unfortunately old technology and I think they were draughty and prone to leaks .

But like gas fires motorhome builders moved away from them.

I love my gas fire and a stable door would have been handy

So they only go out when it's "closed", interesting.:X3:

Have you looked in the classifieds on here? No idea what your budget is, but plenty to look at.

How about having the dog on a flexi lead tethered inside the van?
It can wander in and out but not away, too far.
We met several people with Cat & Dog in the US doing it.

Been looking for ages. TBH. MiL passed about 2 months ago so using some of the inheritance towards a purchase. Likely anywhere between 40k and 60k to spend.

Sorry for your loss....

Now that you don't need to worry about a stable door, you should be able to find what you want with that budget. Make sure you take a damp meter with you when viewing ;)

There is a firm at some of the motorhome shows who offer partial gates for doors to pull across like the fly screen does for dogs obviously.

No idea the firm name, but I think I recall they were on Dragons Den.

It's retro fit, so can fit to any motorhome and would fix the need for barn doors entirely.

Been looking at the 8 gate. Saw it for the first time at the Newbury show. Currently we use a narrow stargate from Argos, £40 ish, Dean something or rather. The fly screen proved not be a barrier for ours.

You definitely won't get one with a stable door at that price .

4k -6k yep plenty out there.

Basically you've too much money for a stable door.

Ours has ruined 2 window screens in the caravan
Hmm well my aren't the best trained .. the youngest is a bouncy nightmare.

But none of them will put more than a nose on my flyscreens . In fact I keep the flyscreens down all the time even when the windows are closed to stop them putting wet noses on the windows.

I have dogs , cats , birds , and various other wildlife going past the windows... dogs will bark a bit but don't jump, claw or go near the flyscreens.

If Val 3 dogs were here she'd be telling you to train your dogs 🤣
