Hi All
We are looking to take our motorhome down to Santander and then drive up through France to Roscoff on a trip of about a month. We are looking for recommendations for places to stay in Spain and France. We travelled down to La Rochelle last summer and stayed at Carnac and Benodet. We will probably have a week in Spain and then travel up the west side of France.
Thanks in advance.

This may help for the top end

The Elephant aire near Santander is well worth a stop. I loved watching the elephants close up through the fence.

Bertie Bus Spain: We enjoyed staying at Potes in the national park, also Orio with easy train access to San Sebastián. Visiting Santillaner del Mar and Comilla’s, whilst camping at Oyambre, was really good by bus. Got to the caves with the prehistoric art too. Pamplona is always nice to visit and across in France we like to visit St Jean de Luz and Bordeaux

The 'problem' is the fact that you are going in 'Spring'?

Some of the Aires in France are free until Easter and thats 10th April. Others start to charge on
1st April. I don't know whether you want to use Aires or campsites.

The area below Bordeaux is a bit of a desert along the N10 that goes from the border to Bordeaux
but right along the coast, there are Aires. Many of them are open but charge. The minority are free.

As no one has mentioned it, could I suggest that you have a look at 'Search for sites' www.searchforsites.co.uk
and 'Park4night' www.park4night.com

They will give you chapter and verse on more places to stop, both casual and regulated than you could shake
a stick at.

Give us an idea of what or how you wish to use when stopping and there will be further info. forthcoming.

Regards

Emmit

Hi Karen and Bob, I'm considering a Roscoff to Santander trip this September. Did you have a good trip and do you have any advice please? We have only toured in France so far using mainly Municipal Camp Sites.
Thanks, Rob
