I'm a newbie
I'm suffering brain fade and am struggling with the simple split charge relay and disabling it when using a B2B.

2017 Bailey Autograph 68-2 with BCA electrics.

Can somebody explain in simple terms what removing the split charge relay does - I think it's to prevent a return path - BCA electrics are a pain, PSU for off grid hab. electrics and 12v charger so 2 outputs and 2 pairs of cables to the hab. battery neither directly connected to the pdu.

First pair of cables charge the battery and are the off grid supply to hab. area.
Second pair are the alternator supply to the hab. battery.

Sounds simple but the wiring is NOT.

As I cannot find the split charge relay/s on the pdu pcb could I just disconnect this joint and run the B2B output to the hab. battery ?

Right hand cable pair, would this be enough to stop a path back or am I totaly wrong ?

You will see elsewhere I'm loosing the plot and missing things a few years ago I could sort easily.

You may not have a separate split charge relay. Some MHs have it integral in a box of electric tricks. Hopefully, someone who is familiar with your model can advise.

The last Bailey I installed a B2B in, disabling the OEM split charge system was remarkably easy - there was a fuse under the bench seat near the front of the van (and the BCA unit was under the same Bench Seat at the rear).

You could have a look for that. Also bearing in mind that layouts vary so the fuse could be in a different location but external to the BCA box. Also check if you find this fuse and remove it if anything else stops working when you start the engine - possibilities are:
Electric Step (if fitted - think most Baileys tend to be low step?)
Fridge on 12V
Hab electrics DON'T disable (that is quite likely. To me, that is actually a bonus!)

There are a couple of fuses in the harness, both in the green wire (feed from starter battery via converters socket) that split into 2 feeds, one is a blade fuse and the other is a midi fuse, so will try these if it's dry tomorrow - only way to check fridge feed is via the lower vent panel, using a clamp on ammeter). No step fitted.

The right red/black pair (with brown insulation band) in the photo is the split charge (alternator) feed to hab. battery - only 4mm cable, double insulated so looks larger - would disconnecting this cause any problems, as the B2B would be the new alternator feed to the hab. battery ?

RE your question as to what a split charging relay does, it is fitted between the leisure battery and the starter battery with a sensor cable to the starter battery, in this way when your leisure battery is charged above the voltage of the starter battery (by solar or EHU) the starter battery will receive charge, when driving the leisure battery willl receive charge as well as the starter battery. Had this arrangement on our campervan and never had any battery issues.
