Just wondering how people carry a spare wheel in the garage, I don't have the room to lay it flat so need to go on back wall of the Hymer. Just not sure yet how to stop it rolling about.

I posted this some time ago. It may give you some food for thought ?

I suggest trying to get it onto the front wall of the garage, being nearer to the back axle it will add less weight on the axle.

In our Arto we have plinths running athwartships at bottom of front and back walls of the garage and our spare sits on the forward one furthest from the door and bolted to the wall, so well out of the way.

I fabricated a bracket with a protruding bolt to the forward bulkhead and fix the wheel to that with a wing-nut plus a a couple of floor to ceiling straps as back-up

I fitted two Fiamma uprights to the forward wall of the garage attached through the wall to some stained iroko battens at the back of my wardrobe and sat the wheel on one of those yellow plastic thingies designed to avoid tyre flat spots (Circa £10.00 for a pair). The second one of those was then put atop the wheel to give me a shelf. Straps cross-cross from the usual Fiamma floor fittings to the verticals. Those verticals have also proved mighty useful for securing my awning table, Ebike and sundry other bits when on the move!

I had Mick at SAP fit an unsealing cradle when he fitted our towbar and levelling system.

I have to remind myself it is there. Thankfully the levelling jacks let me get at it and it is still there and the pressures are OK.
