Hi All we usually enter Spain via the Mediterranean route but this next year early June we will find ourselves near Bordeaux.
We have seen some members enter Spain from the south west of France and travel over Spain to the Med.
We have travelled this way in the past (many years ago on motorcycle) via Andorra, we are unsure this would be the route as it was fantastic on the bike but unsure in a 6.8m motorhome.
We want to tour down the med for maybe a week before going back into France then onto Italy.
The van has 440W solar and LIPo LPG so we can wild, we also have our Border Terrier Jenny with us so the bike is out + we are both septuagenarian.
Could we have some advice on the route from France over to the south of Barcelona with some overnight stops, We prefer to travel max 4 hours per day and efficiently max speed around 85KMH and no tolls if possible. (Pensioners on a budget POAB).

Have look in the "Resources" section on Fun.
Go to page 4 and look for two posts, one from PhilandMena and, immediately following, another by tonka .
I appreciate you try to avoid tolls, I'm the same, EXCEPT! use the toll at the bottom of the N10 in the Bayonne area. The alternative will drive you nuts and reduce your fuel consumption to single figures. It's roundabout, traffic lights, more roundabouts, more lights and its very urban.

Hi Emmit, sorry but do not know web site enough to find "Resources" section on Fun.
Please guide an old man with no site logic in the right direction.

From one old man to another.
I'll assume you are on a laptop.

If that is the case then, at the top of the page on Fun there is a Blue stripe.
Reading left to right;
Three horizonal bars, What's New, Arrow pointing down Forums, Arrow pointing down etc etc.
Go right with your eyes and you will see an arrow pointing Right
Click on that Arrow. It will extend the 'Subjects' and at the far end is 'Resources'

OR!!! You could left click on the two Threads kindly supplied by Jo662 on the Post immediately
before my last post.

They are the two threads I was pointing you towards.

Regards

Thank you, now to look on maps.

Further to the above;

Half way down the road from Bordeaux to the bottom of the border is a short
length of Toll Road.

It is not original but inserted onto the existing N10 as a cash cow.

There is a deviation.
Turn off at J18 onto the D348 going south East which becomes the D834 through the village of Pissos
to the crossroads at Trensacq where you turn West (right) onto the D626 until you join the N10 again
at Labouheye.

The Toll, for its distance is expensive at over a Fiver for 19miles.
