If you purchase labelled goods in the Italian market and return to France the customs may search you and then take them as quite often the branded goods are fake, especially leather goods.
Buy salt at Aigues Mortes. Blanquet de Limoux south of Carcassonne, tuna fish at Sete, anchovies at Collioure, Port type wine at Banyuls. What is not to like in the South of France, plus the sea and sunshine.

We have visited a vineyard near Beziers. It's free, but you are expected to buy a bottle, starts around €5.
The location is excellent just 5 minute walk to the locks of the Canal midi ( world heritage site.) and 25 minutes walk from Béziers--there is a tourist bus at the Canal midi for €15. There are no services at the site

Look at Agde area near Bessier as they have great and relativly cheap campsites (ACSI) with great beaches and cycling and great restaurant at the local Super U.
