Hi
We're looking for a source for a quality reasonably priced hab door flyscreen if anyone can point us in the direction of a good supplier please?

You may have more response if you state what Van you want it for.

Hello, The big maker of flyscreens is Horrex and I think they are Belgian but as for being a reasonable price I'm not so sure.

Thanks for the speedy replies guys!

Mike, yeah the price is the stumbling block there!

Peter, thanks for the links ! we knew about the 'chenille' strips but thought they would be more nuisance then good but may have a look at the Fiamma offering a bit more closely! We've tried the magnetic ones but they really leave too much of a gap in any kind of light breeze we found!

We've got a PVC, so the side door big and solutions seem to be very expensive. When we went to Scotland in midge season, we just used a cheap Ikea net curtain with the end turned up and filled with pennies to weigh it down. Net curtain wire along the top and a couple of spots of sticky velcro on each end to hold it in place. When it was windy enough for the curtain to flap, it was too windy for midges.

I used it again this summer when it was really hot. It let enough breeze through, but kept out the vast majority of insects, even when it was dark with the lights on in the van.

Thanks Guigsy, will have a look into that top tip!

I also have a PVC and have used a Lillypad windblocker fitted into the channel on my Fiamma awning case. A few magnets around and it seems to have been fine - not ideal but works.

We use a Chenille type here at the house on the back door as we have our small holding off the back of the house, quite a few flies:( but the Chenille keeps them out very well. I'd have one on the camper without a doubt but we have an integrated fly screen in the Laika.

Chenille are really good !

We got quoted about £600 for supply and fit of a new fly screen. Went for the chenelle type instead. When we went to trade in, we were told they would need to take the fact there is no proper fly screen into consideration. So, maybe you pay for it one way or another.

Wasn't that just a tactic of the dealer to knock you down ? assuming you bought it without a Flyscreen did you knock down the seller ?

We bought it with the flyscreen about three years ago. Our grandchildren i'm afraid sort of knocked it about when opening and shutting. it was a totally different dealer who said they would take it into consideration when giving a trade-in value.

we have a Flyscreen and frame complete that fitted a Caravan we had we removed it from our 2 year old caravan as it was an extra, I advertised it on here some time ago I just saw your wanted advert , if I can find my advert as it has all the measurements I come back to you .

Hi Width 25mm x depth 70mm x top 70mm depth.

Outside frame size within a mm. or two, is1805 mm high, and 630 mm. wide, the assembly was fitted by a Dealer, and I assume as Door Apertures vary slightly they put in thin spacers at bottom ie. wood

I would be interested in this, just need to check the dimensions of my van.

Hi Tony
Very sorry for not replying in the commotion it totally slipped my mind. We don't have the depth to accommodate it (or any other we guess) due to a sliding drawer just inside of the door that opens across the door opening. This is compounded by the door inner moulding which between the two of them only leaves around a cm or so clearance! It maybe explains why there is no curtain fitted already!
Sorry for not getting back to you!
