Just been accosted by Jim for not posting for a while!
Truth is we, and the van are getting a bit old and all this Hi tech stuff,,,well I don't know how we manage on 100ah of lead acid.
Anyway I was in Lidl today and bought brake cleaner as its an effective degreaser. Amongst the selection was "anti marten".
Don't need that I thought, when I looked at the picture on the can it showed a weasel/pine marten!!
So it's an animal repellent- could save you a fortune if the b***gers get in the wiring.
2 can for £6 on offer.

We are similar, but |I| do not want too much that might go wrong, e.g. we only have 3 electric motors, water pump, step and Truma fan - I can lower and raise the overcab bed and the awning myself. :giggle: No electric wing mirrors with indicators - vulnerable and too expensive to replace.

The most up-to-date item we have is the B2B, fitted about 10 years ago.

It has got to the stage where I do not open a high % of threads because the tech topics are not relevant to us.

Certainly handy stuff if you’re in a Marten prone area and usually winter is much worse (hence it’s in the aisles now). It does need to be applied frequently though although it you park next to a VAG vehicle then 90% sure they’ll go for that first as they love VAG wiring plastics…

I might of accidentally shot one a few years back late one evening in our garden when i was calibrating the sights on the Feinwerkbau🤔

They just like chewing on the cables, not actually eating them. Actually they seem to just enjoy making a mess in vehicle engine bays😂

Several times we’ve had rubber dog toys disappear out of the garden, we usually find them on top of the engine after the Martens have been playing…

But you have a dash full of rather important wiring and another load under the bonnet.
Rodents aren't fussy which wires they chew

Son's in laws had problems with mice chewing the wiring on their VW Up! I told them it was down to the plant based wiring that they use. They took the information on board and decided to change the car, they bought a Skoda Fabia 🤦‍♂️
