Sorry another mifi question

In uk we use 3 ‘internet with legs’ sims, but as they wanted to charge daily for use abroad i bought a smarty sim.
Needless to say now in Spain and it doesn’t work. Don’t want to mess with settings as given my technical expertise then it won’t work when we get back.
Wife phone is on 3 and before we left she bought a £10 sim from them which gives 30 days free usage abroad. Would one of these work in mifi, she has a spare? Alternatively do 3 do a similar data only deal?

You can hotspot your wife’s phone to whatever you are using instead of taking her sim out and putting it in your mifi unit. That means her phone is still useable for calls.

I have a mifi with roof mounted antenna but just hot spotted my phone to my Firestick, instead of putting it in my mifi unit. We also hotspotted it to my my wife’s phone and my IPad while we were touring for 8 weeks around 7 countries. We watched tv with it extensively and never once had a problem in any country. Fortunately I have an older Tesco (O2) sim giving unlimited data while roaming.

Sorry should have said that as far as I am aware you can put your 3 sim in the mifi unit but if it is a PAYG sim I believe it just eats the data up.

Might be worth getting a pre paid data sim from a local shop .
