Somport Tunnel

Hi All. Planning to go to Spain next week.
Does anyone know if the Somport Tunnel is open ? just been told that it opened earlier than anticipated on 20th Dec.
Would make our trip easier if it is.

Does anyone know what the road is like going over the Pyrenees next to them tunnel? Going in April and although the tunnel looks convenient I feel like you'd have a better view going over the top
