Somport tunnel opening

I picked up in our local news that the collapsed road on the french side of the Somport tunnel is due for completion of repairs and re-opening 20th December 2024, allowing traffic to use this route to & from Spain again. I suggest you double check before you go.

It's in the french online rag and Gus-Lopez in Spain has confirmed it in the spanish press also, but always check before going.

Great news but annoyingly about 2 days too late for us.

However our "diversion" is hopefully going to allow us to use the 20c and sunny weather forecast for Capbreton tomorrow.

Hoping to get the tandem out for the first time in 2 months
