Hi,

Just thought I would mention the Somerset Carnivals as they start the weekend after next?

We went last year and have never seen anything quiet like it the processions keep going for up to 2 - 3 hours and some of the floats are 150 feet long towing their own generators that are nearly as big as a house ??? perhaps I'm exaggerating but they really are big, if you have never seen one of them you really must try and go ??

Just a couple of links, one to what its all about and what days they are on as they run for just over a week at 8 different town and the other is to Holiday Resort Unity which has a special offer on and they ran a coach from the campsite last year to the Glastonbury Carnival

The above is just for information as we can't make it this year, but if anyone does go have a great time

Any chance of doing a meet there or nearby?

We love the carnival, we have been to watch it at Glastonbury several times and also at Weson Super Mare.
It is amazing and something we would definately recommend.
One thing I would say is that if planning to go to Glastonbury to watch, all of the roads in Glastonbury get closed off by about 5.30pm and do not open again until about 11.30pm so if you are planning on driving in, get there early. Parking is taken very fast so if going in by van make sure you are there early afternoon to get somewhere big enough to park.
