We have sold our Matrix and we are sorely missing the motor-homing freedom and have been looking at an Autosleeper Boughton 2018 model with MPLM of 3500 kg. It has a Mercedes 2.1 ( 168BHP ) euro 6 engine and 7-speed auto gearbox. Its also rear wheel drive.
Our past motorhomes have been Fiat based and I have no idea about the Mercedes powered option. Is it a reliable engine/gearbox combination considering its 5 years old but low mileage at 11300 miles.?

Any advice would be welcome from you guys out there with any knowledge/experience of this engine and gearbox and/or the Autosleeper coachbuilt motorhome in general.

Like many older marques Auto-sleeper build quality was legendary. I'm sure there are some Funsters who can let you kknow what today's variants are like (y)

Mercedes with auto box is a great combination and should be good for many years with regular servicing.

We looked at a couple of Autosleepers. They look too be very nicely put together. The issue for us was the lack of storage. One outside mini locker for your EHU cable and water hose was about all you seemed to get.

Had the Mercedes 2.1 ( 168BHP ) euro 6 engine and 7-speed auto gearbox, rear wheel drive on a Hymer, loved it, sold it, but got another, tho this is now the FWD 2L

Yes storage appears to be a bit of a drawback with the newer models as well
