Ok I have a solar panel on my old knacker thatvwas there when i boight the van but how do I find out what size it is in terms of wattage ?

If you have a selfie stick and a smart phone you may be able to take a photo of the data plate. Alternatively measure it and have a look online to match it which would give you a rough idea.

Is it as simple the size of the owners dictates it's wattage?

Obvious point but keep it clean as dirt etc will seriously reduce it's output .
