Had the MoHo for 2yrs now, and its time for a solar upgrade as we're going travelling in Europe again for 90days next year, and naturally we had to be frugal this year with using power when off-grid, so would like to improve charging potential.
I upgraded the controller earlier this year to a Victron MPPT 100/20, to which I've seen charging improvements, now I want to upgrade the solar to improve charging potential.
We have a 110ha leisure battery, with a Lithium upgrade in 12months, the main thing is better consistency of charging from the panels.

Questions....
1) Are 2 x 150w panels better than 1 x 300w - From a coverage perspective I assume yes, but from a charging efficiency perspective? (or any other aspect for that matter)
2) I'm conscious of weight (the MoHo, not me), so was thinking of flexible panels rather than ridged to save kgs - Any thoughts on this?

Flexible panels don’t have a good reputation… some say the two panels are better then one as one may be shaded but the other will still produce…

In my opinion get as much solar as you can up there and if that means more panels to cover the space available or then only one it won’t make a difference to the output. 300 watts is 300 watts whether it’s from 3 panels or just one…😎

Thanks Just smiffy .... Panel that roof to within an inch of its life I shall haha

I'm going the NEC MoHo show later this month with an intention of doing some research on flexible panels, which you're right, don't have a good reputation, mainly over excess heat generation, will see what we find.

Are you able to add another battery?
Unfortunately not DandJ, the design of the MoHo doesn't give me any options, so will just replace with a beefier version, say a 300ha
