In the process of buying another camper need to fit a solar panel. Can any one tell me the right sort of size and who can fit it in the Great Dunmow area of Essex. Also with knowledge of Satellite dishes if possible. Cheers

80 to 400w depending on how much electric you use. Also depends where you are going, and how much roof space you have. Oh and how big your batteries are.

You could try this chap - http://www.the-caravan-man.com/services.html - though he doesn't mention satellites as an area of expertise.

He covers most of the area and works from just outside Braintree.

I've no idea whether he's any good or not but saw his van at another motorhomer's house and looked for his details in case we needed any work done.

We've only got an 80W panel and I think we could do with a bit more. We stayed on a site with a capped allowance of electric in Spain in March, so I switched the charger off and we used the solar. The batteries gradually ran down over the 10 days we were there and I was eventually forced to switch the charger on for the last night.

It makes much more power than we use for small inverter, vaccum & toothbrushes charger TV, LED lights, water pump.

Even keeps up with the compressor box cooler in September if in no shade. (y)
