Is there a digital display? What is showing on that? Red normally indicates a fault are there any fuses to check?

post a pic lets have a look at the MPPT or is it this one
red light on can mean battery is connected but not getting solar, are the connections from the panel to the MPPT ok, any fuses blown? track the cable back.
Or it can even mean solar ok and battery not connected...again FUSE? check leads etc

If you have a volt meter (if not get one a cheap one they are useful) check the voltage from the solar cable ends to see if solar is working ok first

I've checked the main fuse box and nothing looks out
yep thats the one,

RED ON = Battery connected but no solar charge available / solar panel connected and producing power, but no battery connected.

check all connections,
if power is getting from panels then work on all cables toward battery by checking output of mppt with voltmeter (or borrow one) .
Has the previous owner/fitter added in inline fuse in the solar cable somewhere to the MPPT maybe, for maintenance etc and its tripped. I do this.

Does the cables from the MPPT go direct to the battery as there will almost certainly be a fuse (from the mppt + close to the battery) that could have blown.
basically follow all cables and see what is where

Have a quick check at your leisure battery see if the solar is fused there. If it is simple fix.
Marquis reputation is hit and miss on aftercare but good luck hopefully birtley are ok.

You can always post here for plenty advice

Download the PV Logic app (PVMobile suite) and link to the controller via Bluetooth. This will give you a better idea of what os going on.

Wow isn't that clever I've done what you said and it's a bit of confusion to me but I can work out it stopped charging about 7.25 yesterday

Glad you got it sorted via the "off and back on" method. I have used PV Logic on both my previous and current van. I've had no issues.
The only thing that I would change would be to have the ability to charge the leisure battery in preference to the starter. As it is it charges both, one after the other.
Don't get too caught up in the app. You'll be on it constantly. Just remember you might need to close all apps that are running fully, or you might have problems connecting to you MTTP controller.
