Solar not working

So the solar issue has been fixed.
I’ll attempt to describe what the problem was but the chances I’ll get it wrong.
First of all every component was in good working order. The trouble was the MPPT (Victron) was incompatible with the panel. From what I understand the batteries had down to 5amps (I think) before the MPPT would allow the charge to go to the batteries. They have replaced it with a Genasun GVB-8 MPPT controller which is happily working away.

I had a walk along the canal towpath and have to say that it’s quite overgrown and bumpy! Certainly more suited to confident cyclists and maybe mountain bike tyres. Certainly my wife did not fancy it. I dare say it’s better in the towns like Devizes and alongside the Caen Locks. The campsite mentions cycling along the canal bank so I thought I’d mention it.

The narrowboats and other boats all have solar but the banks are tree lined and cast shade over the canal. To make it worse all the solar panels that I saw were filthy and needed a good clean!

You tube... Lots of videos on how to use a multimeter and test in caravans / motorhomes / rv..
Could be a lesson worth learning.

Careful, though. I followed this advice, ie. loads of YouTube things, then promptly shorted a connection with multimeter and blew a fuse. My better half has since removed the multimeter
