Hobby T65HFL
Good afternoon funsters.
I recently acquired a hobby t65hfl. The leisure battery is a gel battery and the vehicle battery is a wet battery. The leisure battery is charged via solar panel/controller and the vehicle battery is not connected to controller at all. Is it possible to charge different types of battery using this controller or any other controller? I'm not sure if the settings in this controller are capable of charging two different types of battery.
Thanks for any advice.
Colin.

As the engine battery only receives a trickle charger it will be fine,, however I wouldn't use that solar regulator with Gel batteries, itis only a 2 stage charger and does not have an absorption phase so your Gels will never get a full charge.

Thanks Lenny.
It does have 3 settings on it stating sealed, gel or flooded. I plan on changing it out for something more suitable as soon as I can. Do you have any recommendations . I don't need anything ott. Just something to do the job.
Thanks Colin.

I use a Votronic MPP 350, that is the 350 watt controller they do 250 & 430 watt versions. Victron are also good a bit dearer and aren't dual output like the Votronic.

Lenny. Would i be able to change current controller for the Voltronic MPP 350 like for like. I mean just disconnect my old one and put in the new one or would I need different cables etc ?

Yes you can just change it over, your cables to the battery do look a bit on the small side.

Epever Duoracer only charges lead acid as the engine battery and a variety of others as the hab battery.

If you change the controller, make sure you know which solar panel wire is positive and negative. They both look black in the picture.
