Re commissioning Van after winter storage which has been delayed through Partners recovery after hip replacement. She’s doing very well so concentrating on the work in hand.
The large solar panel fitted to our Autotrail has always kept the Leisure batteries topped up but l had removed the engine battery over winter as that has failed in the past. Checking the display panel I find the Leisure’s doing fine but no solar amps showing despite beautiful full on sun. Would the vehicle battery not being connected cause this as the Leisure’s are fully charged?

If the battery is fully charged the controller will more or less shut down so no amps showing. If you turn on something to drain some power from the battery you should see amps( assuming it's sunny)

As Jim says. Quick test, when in full sun, just turn lots of things on to create a demand on the battery. Ie all the lights, TV and anything 12v in the habitation area.
