SOG fitting query

We've had Sog Type B through the door for years.
For those times when we are parked close to anyone else I have a switch on the inside that turns the fan off.
For ease of emptying I always add a bio agent of one sort or another so all that comes out literally looks like builders tea!

I think the question has been answered re the 5mm but I think its to remind you, when you drill the door , to be sure to leave clearance betwen the door frame and the edge of the filter carrier

I've been a builder for more than 40 years and never had tea that looks like the contents of a cassette toilet.:coffee::lipssealed::hot::giggler:

My dream job is sewer jetter.

Been covered in other peoples excrement a fair few times in my current job.

I love the drain unblockers on YouTube.

Does that make me weird?

I spent years surveying sewers and drawing up structural and remedial reports before leaving and persuing a career in gardening.
My swan song survey was in Brighton. 12 miles long paddling along in an Avon inflatable dingy. The guys who unblock the fat from sewers have my utmost respect. That stuff makes you reach.

As said earlier, clearance is required to slide the plastic cover upwards for filter change. There are slots in the bottom ( Woops, sorry. I said bottom :giggle: ) edge of the cover with screws into the door panel.

Our new to us van has a sog.To be honest I’ve disconnected . Really don’t like the fan and find that I can still smell the after effects.
Also found the noise of the fan annoying when it’s being used at night. Perhaps it’s just us but we’ve reverted to additive.
Edit
The above reading was quite funny when predictive text put in dog instead of sog.

I want one as sometimes when I am driving I seem to get the smell from the toilet/shower area coming through to the cab. Happens in my current Hymer and I had it in my old Talbot as well. Also even with little use I find the cassette does stink the shower room out a bit.

My understanding is that with the SOG and the vacuum it creates it keeps the smell well sealed and/ or directed outside through the filter.

They do say 'no bad smells in the van, guaranteed' so that is my main reason for buying it.

Other stated advantages are that because of the way it works, all contents degrade faster and do so with out the need for chemicals. So save money on chemicals and you can empty it anywhere, as in it's safe to empty in to septic tank as no chemicals have been used.
we get a drain smell similar to what you describe and its the waste tank, do you get it when your driving with the window open? we just put all the plugs in to stop it .its only when traveling with waste in the tank when ever possible we run with the drain tap open

our m/h came with the floor type fitted & my man installed a sog as well . when in Europe if you don't like your neighbours just go to the loo they soon shift  but so do your guests that's the downside

Can anyone help with what I've got going on here. This is just in the cassette locker on the left hand wall and presumably this is where I've to power the fan from.

I've got a pink and purple a brown and a few blacks.

Only way to find out is with a multimeter.

They are cheap for what you need, mine was £15 on Amazon.
