I felt my van move… I got out and a Spanish guy was reversing into my van not realising I had a bike on the back! I banged on the roof of his car and he got out and asked me what the problem was!!!!! I pointed at my bike on the rack and he said it was only a little bit!!! A little bit times 3!!!
And after I taught him some manners in my best Scottish vernacular, he gave me the finger and drove off with his 90 year old mother on board, she must be so proud! 😐

Probably best he drove off as you may have ended up sticking his finger where the sun doesnt shime then the police may have been envolved

Perfectly normal… that’s their version of parking sensors, stayed at a supermarket aire the other day and I watched a car reverse into a space up against a wall and he just went in until he bashed it, I thought fairly hard too but he just got out and walked off like it’s normal…😳

In Paris cars are expected to.park without handbrake on so they can be shunted when parking

It's called Braille parking.
Wait to feel the bumps.
Very common across France, Spain and Italy.
In Turino several years ago and was advised by rental company not to apply handbrake too hard and leave in neutral.
Noted where car was parked and the following morning it was a couple of feet from that place and with no space front or rear.
So had to "make" space by nudging the cars front and rear, to make space.

I had best not take my van to Spain then, years ago when I was 25 I bought my first brand new car.
A week later me and Mrs CC went out for lunch, parked over the back in a massive near empty car park but when we returned some dummy had parked so close i had to pull the car out so she could get in🤬🤬 Looked at the side of the car and there was a dink in the door🤬🤬
Went ballistic waited for 10 minutes and nobody came back so I got the wheel brace out of my car and smashed all the lights on the car then said to Mrs CC I was going home to get my van with the sledge hammer and come back😁😁 Luckily I had calmed down a bit time I got home 😁
I think I have calmed down a bit over the years but🤔🤔🤔

You're not related to gus-lopez Richard by any chance?

I have to say, I'd be absolutely gutted too.

Years ago when serving with the RAF in Cyprus, I picked up my brand spanking new, bright red, duty free Mazda 323. The dealer gave me a fuel voucher to be used at a filling station a few hundred yards away. It wasn't self service. Matey came out of his little hut, picked up the dispensing gun from the pump, and immediately hit the bodywork of the car with the nozzle, chipping a chunk of paint off. :madder: I lost my rag and just wanted to strangle the incompetent barsteward with his fuel dispensing hose. He on the other hand couldn't see a problem.

Cheers,

Jock. ;)

Nance being carried out!
Decided to take my bike off and discovered…..
The arsehole had damaged my bike rack in the tiny x 3 bumps 😡

Not much consolation but better the bike rack than the van.

I do feel for you having had someone try to get a baby stroller through a space obviously too small and managing to scrape cars both sides.

We also had a twit run into the back of us at traffic lights earlier in the year resulting in our car being off the road for months - as it is wheelchair adapted the supplied hire car was unsuitable for me to drive and I have lost a lot of my confidence in driving :(
