No idea if other transmitters have been errrrr, pimped ( ! ) but replacing the coax on the tv antenna on the van today I decided to check what was coming off the bottom of the lead before replacing it..
Eighteen months or so ago I was getting about 600microvolt on the end.. Since then the cable suffered some damage and became water logged ( hence the need to replace ) but is currently dry..
Today I was stunned to get almost a a millivolt..
Rushed in doors because I thought there must be a huge lift on.. Nope.. all UHF and VHF beacons pretty much as normal...
I can only presume they have trebled the output power of Tacleston and just forgot to mention it !!
I know there was an awful lot of moaning about the digi switch over as so many areas simply could not get a good enough signal, so I guess this could well be the answer..
Would like to be making high powered Klystron output bottles now as they must be fetching a bomb !
