Just remember 2 people in a tiny van is like being in a prison cell when the bad weather stops you getting out. If you argue, it can be like hell on earth with no escape. Could the 2 of you survive being locked in an average bathroom together for 24 hours or more?
5.2 metre van,,better kitchen than many 7 plus metre van,,ok small shower space but useable..Decent lounge,,not just a bench,,Ok we have to make the beds up,,2 mins to make 3 mins to put away,,Loads of storage,,We dont argue,,would living in Buckinham Palace help your marriage?? If you cant get on you married the wrong partner,,BUSBY.

Wrong on all accounts for us.
One of us in our Symbol can stay in bed and the other can sit,use bathroom and cook at the same time..BUSBY.

I truly do not get this, it may be small but oh so comfy to spend time with the one you love ❤. If there is a disagreement talk it gets resolved space has nothing (in my opinion) to do with it. If there is an argument at home we don’t run in to separate rooms.
But you do have to watch your knuckles on the sharp edges when it comes to blows. ::bigsmile:

What are the smallest motorhomes that that incorporate the essentials of toilet and shower compartment? SWMBO won’t consider anything without those but also wants a “small” motorhome. Must be no wider than a van conversion.

TIA.

The Wildax Pulsar is as far as I know the only one in the UK which answers your requirements.
However if your were in Germany you could have on of these! As an L1 H4, it is taking things to extremes. I saw one in Langenargen in Germany a month ago. A couple on bikes stopped and took pictures, so strange it looked.

That spare wheel would stop me carrying my cycles but smart looking van,,BUSBY.
I've seen Pulsars with a cycle rack (can't tell you what or how - never took a lot of notice as I don't have a bike) And yes they're lovely vans

That's interesting as the Vario 499 is not listed as a Globecar which is why I didn't mention it. That link you've put up has a Poessl picture. It would be worthwhile to contact the dealer to ask if it can be purchased as Poessl doesn't sell in the UK.

Most enjoyable to drive and the best for traction:

CS Amigo @5.2m

Best option is the older RWD Sprinter with 7G-Tronic auto.

plenty of others, including the wild ax and sone newer Fiat based Knaus Boxlife. If you can afford one. Go for the new Fiat with XF auto

It looks very similar to the Concorde Compact that I nearly bought earlier in the year. Very interesting design and amazing mow much they have managed to fit into such a small vehicle. Unfortunately I couldn't live with the looks, and after hiring I realised that the larger footprint of a coachbuilt really wasn't a problem for us.

Thanks all for you replies. Having reflected on costs and our ability to get away just now, I think we’ll leave motorhoming for a bit.

Oh. I was just about to suggest one.

5 meters long (plus a little extra for spare wheel), 2.45 wide including mirrors, 2.83 high including tv aerial.
2 sliding doors, 4 full travelling seats that convert quickly into a transverse double bed. 4 lockers & narrow wardrobe plus huge over cab locker.
Wetroom with loo, usable shower, fold-down basin, 2 large lockers.
Kitchen area with fridge, sink, oven if you want (but I just have a hob). 3 overhead lockers, sliding larder and 4 drawers.
Underslung lpg, fresh water & grey water. Tank heaters.
Boiler & blown air heating.
Solar panel, 2 leisure batteries.
Cracking little van.

Are you still selling it Wendy?

Not right now Joy, things have become so different this year that I don't want to make any unnecessary changes. I never really decided to change it, I love it so much; otherwise I'd have ordered my next one at the show in February!

We downsized from a tag frankia to a Large PVC. The only difference in living in a smaller van is that everything is an interference fit. You need to think and plan a bit more. If our shower is brng used you cant get in the fridge. Other vans have different things you cant do at the same time

On the point about 2 people being stuck inside in bad weather, a 5.4m van can provide 2 separate living spaces. Either a fixed bed or lounge at the back, plus continental dinette seating at the front.

At 5m or less there is generally only one living space, so you are more on top of each other 24/7, figuratively speaking.
