Since 2005! 2000+ nights so far...
Putting feelers out for any recommendations of sites where there is some good cycling, forests, bridleways, rivers, canal paths etc - ideally in the location squiggled below
Sites near a pub, cheap, and no facilities preferred :)

We can/do use camping in the forest sites quite a lot which meet all criteria, just looking for alternatives :)

Bath Marina, literally on the K&A canal path, plus there’s a route through a tunnel. Stayed but not cycled ourselves.

Uphill Marina is a nice small site. It looks like it’s on cycle route 33.

Thanks, will look.
We live just off the K&A so have cycled into Bath a few times (and all the way from Watford!) - but not looked at Bath as a base.

Just outside your perimeter in Wales Llanelli is Pembrey country club. Campsite in the park or wild camping nearby. Cycle path along the coast.

Gloucester & Sharpness Canal. We cycled the section from Sharpness to Slimbridge and back last weekend. Stayed at the Dockers Club for £5 per night - and very reasonably priced drinks!

Grand Western Canal, Tiverton. Minnows Touring Park just off the M5/J27.

C&MC - not members so ££
Outside your area (but not that far outside) consider the Tarka trail near Bideford.
On to do list, but totally forgot - thanks! (outside area for this question, but we will be there later in the year so will be perfect for that)

Yep, on our to do list :)

Thanks, an area we don't know.

Avon & Kennet Canal at Devizes and Caen Hill Locks (one of the longest flight of locks). C&CC site, Three Magpies Campsite or Lower Foxhangers CS site all canal side. A couple of good pubs nearby.
Also, Bradford upon Avon - Railway Car Park (no facilities) and Beehive Field.
Also, Strawberry Line from Yatton to Cheddar (11 miles cycle route) plenty of sites and pub stopovers in the area - see ‘searchforsites’.

All good, but too close to home (live in Melksham) :) Caen hill is great, but not on weekends when full of people/kids running out; dogs on 20m long leads - especially if bombing down at 30mph :) joking

You’ve mentioned camping in the forest, have you tried the one at Bracelands in the Forest of Dean? Plenty of good marked cycle paths in the area, mountain bike park (if you’re into that) plus Symonds Yat and canoeing on the Wye.

Fat fingered double post - deleted!

Good shout, have stayed in FoD for mountain biking trails (not park :) )) - but not Bracelands - added - thanks!

There's also daisy's just outside and if you want family friendly gateway in Llanelli

Prefer "adult only" :) Family unfriendly better! Nothing worse than sproglets causing chaos, cycling round blindly potentially scratching your P&J and parents/grandparents saying "its okay little jonny is on holiday, he won't do any harm" until he does. More like parenting skills on holiday.

Apart from that... :D :D

We use Bracelands quite a bit but prefer Rushmere campsite is nearby a bit smaller but really nice place. The owners keep carriage horses and always up for a chat! Not the best in terms of facilities but we use our own so doesn’t really bother us.
Also pub in Staunton serves really great food but you will need to book as they get very busy👍

Thats the site we've stayed on a few times when playing in the forest. Yes, faculties interesting but IIRC they had shower room rather than just a shower cubical?

Not used that pub, so noted. Thanks
