Small campsites to reopen....

pelican-thank you. Those shutters are on our house and one of the many tasks we've been able to carry out during the confinement, has been the painting of the shutters from their original brown to the regional colour of grey.

Ah I thought you were renovating.
Yours is just the sort of property that my wife wants, what part of France is that?

Yes well spotted & admittedly not a small site but was more of a statement to what I’m personally missing!
However, this one is a CL site:giggle:
You certainly know your sites if you can guess the location of this one(y)

We run a C&CC CS and we have not been told that we can open yet.

that’s useful info. I would have hoped that the Club has liaised with you to discuss the practicalities of opening and any measures you might need to implement to protect yourselves and guests?

Talking to a private site owner yesterday. Their member's federation have not announced anything. Still in the dark.

The region is Nievre in Burgundy. It's about two hours south of Paris. Property is so cheap here. If you have the energy and some funds, you can make a really lovely property. In our village, there is a house, with two brick buildings, a fair amount of land for €15,000!

Edit: here's a link to a local immobiliser. See and wonder at the bargains.

Trewethett farm it’s a CMC site. You can walk straight out the site onto coast path and go left or right to Tintagal or Boscastle. If you can’t walk back bus drops you at the top of driveway. (y)

Hi MikeyRV, thanks very much for the info about the site - it looks wonderful so it will definitely be on our list to visit! 😊

Great to hear from you. Hope you're enjoying your lovely Hymer! Oscar/Portia's not in the least jealous. Well, maybe a little!
She's been everywhere; Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, Scotland, Belgium and of course France. Planning our first week away here now that things are opening up again. You two both also stay safe and enjoy yourselves.

Ok I give up, please tell us.

SOS hit the nail on the head. It's situated just outside Weymouth (y)

Isle view Osmington?

With me posting the picture on here, reminded me how wonderful this place is and would be the perfect place to visit once restrictions allow. However, sadly it is no longer listed as a CL site with C&MC, so I tried emailing the owner via the details we had exchanged and this was bounced back:(

One for sure my wife and I will miss!

Ironically I tried the same last week. I tried a different email for them yesterday but no answer yet! Are they completely removed from C&MC as another of my favourite CL websites are not functioning and I wondered if they had taken them down while lockdown was still in force. 🙁

It's not shown at all on the C&MC site and Lesley used to have their own website, which was active a few weeks ago but now can't be found; gutted :(

Surely, that depends on how fortunate you are! Personally, I know where I'd rather be(y)

Your location sure looks great but as we have to slum it I’ll have to make do with the garden. Unfortunately not on the plate as such but had to send showing like this to granddaughter as she loves my chips and the fillet just nearly there.

Us too if that is the case. I might try calling her, it was one of our absolute favourites 🙁

We're booked on the shuttle for 26th August, going to Belgium and Holland for a month. Still worried it won't happen. Don't want to lose our Tesco points we used for the shuttle

This is an extract from the latest communication we received on 22nd May from C&CC re our site and other sites (including CS sites), so any sites saying they will be open from 4th July are being hopeful, thats why we are only accepting provisional bookings at this time.

"We’ll effectively remain closed through June. A lot of what we’re dealing with is the uncertainty around re-opening timings and social distancing parameters that will need to be applied. We are currently working on the operational aspects of opening sites, followed by the opening of Greenfields House, however following the latest Government announcements and subsequent guidance issued we haven’t got that much clarity, the best we can hope (and are planning for) is that we will be able to open as part of the 3rd phase on the 4th July, although this is as yet unconfirmed. "

Hi all

Just for those who have been discussing Isle View Camping Osmington. We did a walk today which incorporated the site. All C&MC signage has been removed from the entrance with just a sign saying Isle View no camping mentioned. The locks on the gates are all changed, the grass is understandably grown and Lesley's caravan is no longer at the back of the field. Cant confirm if it is no longer but it did look that way sadly.
Fingers crossed all is ok and they will be back up and running again soon. Very much one of our favourites with many happy memories there.

Had a call from Lynton CCC site we had booked for 20th August - saying CCC had decided at short notice NOT to allow many sites to open including them [presumably they said to allow more staff to man the ones they might open ] However they found us another space at a site that was opening [until it doesn't]- sigh - looks like they are changing minds about opening the smaller sites as well ; but the CCC are both helpful and flexible. Have to have something to look forward to; calendar a sea of drowned plans so far this year ....

New Forest campsites have just sent me a notice stating they are open from 4th July, i have just booked some nights on their web sites no problems.

OK guys, we've had another email from CCC this afternoon which states:

"While the lockdown continues to slowly ease, campsites remain closed and not able to open until the Government legally says we are able to.
The Club is currently working towards a site opening date of 4th July. This date has still yet to be confirmed for campsites, but for the moment this is the only date to work to."

So we are still keeping bookings for our site as provisional until told otherwise.

Hope this helps you all.
